Fixtures and validation

Fixture generation preserves valid edits. shoplifter fixtures reset intentionally replaces existing fixture edits; it is not a routine repair command. Authored homepage, header, footer and CSS are never regenerated implicitly.

Run this sequence before handing off a project:

shoplifter types
shoplifter validate
npm run build
shoplifter validate output
shoplifter files

validate output expects built output. Fix the reported input, schema, component or image issue rather than weakening validation. shoplifter scaffold homepage creates a missing component and refuses to overwrite authored files.

Upload inspection

shoplifter files lists included paths, byte sizes and the total. The CLI applies root/nested .gitignore and .shoplifterignore files. Required excluded files fail explicitly; mandatory credential/environment/key exclusions cannot be undone with negation rules.

Keep secrets and private records out of source. Exclusions are useful but cannot detect all secrets embedded in otherwise valid files. Read publishing before remote changes.
